New 2026 Ford Explorer Active 4x4 in St. Louis, MO

The 2026 Ford Explorer Active immediately impresses with its composed handling and responsive steering, offering a driving experience that feels both stable and connected, especially for an SUV in its class.

Enthusiasts who value engagement on their daily drives will appreciate this SUV’s dynamic balance. The Explorer Active is engineered for drivers who notice steering calibration, throttle response, and suspension compliance, transforming routine commutes or long highway runs into satisfying journeys. Its four-wheel drive system lends extra confidence in variable weather, making it an ideal companion for those in regions like St. Louis where changing conditions are common. The interior, dressed in gray cloth, offers ergonomic support so your focus remains on the road, not on adjusting for comfort.

Performance is at the core of the Explorer Active’s appeal. The turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 delivers eager throttle response, working seamlessly with the 10-speed automatic transmission that shifts quickly and smoothly, selecting the right gear for every situation. On-ramps and passing maneuvers feel effortless, while the four-wheel independent suspension keeps the SUV composed over uneven pavement. The speed-sensing steering adapts to your inputs, sharpening at higher speeds for stability and lightening up for easy city navigation. Brake pedal feel is progressive, inspiring confidence whether you’re slowing from highway speeds or navigating stop-and-go traffic.

Safety systems in this SUV are tuned to support, not override, the driver’s intentions. Electronic Stability Control and traction control step in subtly, intervening only as needed to maintain composure through quick lane changes or slippery conditions, enhancing rather than detracting from the driving experience. The ABS-equipped four-wheel disc brakes and brake assist provide reassuring stopping power, while the rearview camera and emergency communication system (911 Assist) add peace of mind without intruding on engagement. Auto high-beam headlights and lane-focused airbags further bolster confidence on every drive.

The Explorer Active surrounds its driver with features designed for both convenience and connection. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration allow you to stay in command of your music and navigation without distraction. Dual-zone automatic temperature control and rear
